Focus Together (함께 집중해요) is a focus timer. While you concentrate, a 3D character walks — and you can be matched with another person focusing at the same time. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to remove it. In short: we collect the minimum needed to run your account, your focus records, and matching. We don't sell your personal data. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, which is described below; the Pro subscription removes them.

An account is required

Matching you with another person needs a stable identity on our server, so there is no anonymous mode. On iPhone you sign in with Sign in with Apple; on Android with Google Sign-In.

What we collect

Your profile photo never leaves your phone. If you set one, it's stored only in the app's local storage on your device. There is no upload path — we have no copy of it — and it's removed along with the app's local data when you delete your account or remove the app.

Reporting and blocking

If you report someone, we store the report: the reason you picked, anything you write in the detail field, and a snapshot of that person's nickname at the time. We keep reports for up to one year, except reports that led to action, which we keep as a record of that decision. If you block someone, we store that block along with a snapshot of their nickname so you can recognize them in your block list later. If that person later deletes their account, the nickname snapshot is erased and they simply appear as an unnamed entry. You can unblock from Settings at any time.

What other people can see

Where your data lives

We use Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (API hosting) to run Focus Together, and OpenAI's moderation service to screen nicknames and handles for abusive text — when you set or change one, we send OpenAI just that text, not your account or email. They process data on our behalf. We don't run product analytics or crash reporting of our own. We don't sell your personal data. If we add a service provider as the product grows, we'll keep this page current. If Focus Together is acquired or its assets are transferred, your data may move to the new owner under this same policy, and we'll tell you about any material change.

Ads (free version)

Unless you subscribe to Pro, the app shows a banner during focus sessions and offers a rewarded video on the result screen. These ads are served by Google AdMob (Google LLC), which is the one third-party SDK in the app. To serve and measure ads, AdMob collects on its own behalf: your device's advertising identifier (the Android advertising ID, or on iPhone the IDFA only if you allow tracking when asked), an approximate location derived from your IP address, how you interact with ads, and diagnostic data about the SDK (crashes, performance). We don't send AdMob your account, email, or focus records.

How Google uses this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Purchases

Items in the app are bought with in-app points you earn by focusing. The optional Pro subscription is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase on iPhone and Google Play's billing system on Android, and Apple or Google — not us — handles your payment details. We never see your card or billing information.

To know whether your account is Pro, the store gives us a record of the purchase and each renewal: transaction and order identifiers (on Android, a purchase token we use to look the subscription up with Google Play), the product (monthly or yearly), purchase and expiry dates, the subscription status (active, in a billing grace period, on hold, cancelled, expired, refunded), and whether it's a test purchase. We link that record to your account and keep it while the account exists so we can apply Pro, restore it on a new device, and reconcile with the store. We also note which screen in the app you subscribed from, to learn what people find useful. When you delete your account, the link between the purchase record and you is removed; anonymised purchase records may be kept for bookkeeping and to handle refund disputes.

Keeping and deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from My page in the app, or by email if you no longer have the app — step by step on our account deletion page. Deleting the account doesn't cancel a Pro subscription; cancel that with Apple or Google Play first. Deletion removes your profile and deletes your focus session records, and your locally stored data — including your profile photo — is cleared from the device. Your nickname is erased from your profile and from any snapshot held in another person's block list. Your email address and name are moved to a separate archive, used only if we need to handle a dispute or an abuse report, and permanently erased after 3 months. Records of matches you took part in are kept without your nickname or outfit. What does outlive deletion is a moderation record: if someone reported you, that report is kept — including the nickname you were using at the time — because otherwise deleting an account would be a way to erase a report against you. Reports are kept for up to a year, or longer if we acted on one. We keep your account data while your account is open, and may keep minimal anonymous or aggregate data indefinitely.

Children

Focus Together isn't intended for children. You must be at least 13, or older if your country requires it (for example 16 in parts of the EU). If we learn we've collected a child's data, we'll delete it.
